Our first use of linseed paint in an 18th century restoration – used on fascia and corbels, great colour depth and coverage, easy to apply, looking forward to seeing the long-term benefits. Excellent service too.

Seems to work well, time will tell. Easy to use on 400 year old oak beams, barge boards and brand new window frames. Not as glossy as synthetics but the effect on our 400 year old house is just right.

Fabulous product but different consistency from the last time we bought it from you. Much better this time. It didn’t need so much thinning down with linseed so had a more Matt finish which we wanted

Lovely paint ! Goes on well and looks fantastic. The service from Brouns & Co is second to none .. I have no hesitation recommending their products or them !

Has worked very well in our listed building. It also smells beautiful if slightly diluted with Balsamic Turpentine! Alan

This paint is expensive but it goes a long way and the finish is better than any other paint I have used.

Looks great on trellis and external wooden doors. Used it thinned down with raw linseed oil and so great coverage. The only downside is to be careful of the flammability of used rags/ paintbrushes whilst drying.

I believe this paint will solve the flaking paint issue on south side of the fascia bourd

I’ve used a competitive linseed oil paint for many years and I’ve never come across Broun before. As the ‘other’ company were out of stock, I thought I’d give it a try. I have to say that I’m very pleased with the product. The colour is a deeper black than the other Swedish product and the consistency is less runny reducing drips. It does seem more expensive for a 2.5L tin rather than a 3L tin for a similar price though. I’m a convert.

Blackout goes no where near describing the intensity of black. The first coat on stone sills gave almost complete cover, but did a second to be sure. Be warned; prepare well for cleaning up after, the slightest drop or streak seems to get everywhere – whereas the green primer and actual paint were easily cleaned up , the black was more stubborn in its remaking on hands and tools – lots of rags and cleaning sorted it out – but be prepared !! looks absolutely stunning depth of colour – so well worth the effort
