Raw linseed oil

Use for thinning of linseed oil paint.

This cold-pressed and matured raw linseed oil from Yorkshire is used for thinning linseed oil paints. It’s particularly ideal as a thinner if you’re painting very dry, porous wood because it has a slower drying time.

We often get asked if you can use linseed oil on its own (raw or boiled) to protect exterior timber. We wouldn’t recommend this as there is no protection from UV breakdown or mould growth because linseed oil is an organic product. We have, therefore, developed a Nourish Wood Oil which gives exterior timber the protection it needs with a clear finish. Or you can use our Exterior Linseed Oil Paint which has the protection from the colour pigments in the paint.
