Les b\u00e2timents coloniaux en bois rouge omnipr\u00e9sents<\/p>\n

Outre les aspects culturels, les premiers colons europ\u00e9ens ont apport\u00e9 avec eux des id\u00e9es d’architecture, des techniques de construction et des mat\u00e9riaux. Cela incluait \u00e9galement la peinture, comme la peinture \u00e0 l’huile de lin. Il \u00e9tait courant que les vieux b\u00e2timents en bois soient trait\u00e9s avec de la peinture \u00e0 l’huile de lin, tr\u00e8s souvent un oxyde de fer rouge broy\u00e9 dans de l’huile de lin. <\/p>\n

Ils utilisaient cette peinture depuis des centaines d’ann\u00e9es et savaient qu’elle \u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement efficace pour prot\u00e9ger le bois de tous les types de climat. En Europe, ils l’utilisaient du nord de la Norv\u00e8ge et de la Su\u00e8de jusqu’en Italie et en Espagne, dans tous les types de climats et de conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

L’histoire de cette couleur est tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante. Pendant la guerre de Succession d’Espagne, le futur roi de Su\u00e8de, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Ier Ling, combattit aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des Hollandais dans plusieurs batailles navales. Lors de son s\u00e9jour aux Pays-Bas (aujourd’hui les Pays-Bas), il vit les demeures en briques de villes comme Amsterdam, Haarlem et Alkmaar, qui appartenaient aux riches commer\u00e7ants de l’\u00e2ge d’or hollandais. <\/p>\n

De retour en Su\u00e8de, il souhaitait retrouver le m\u00eame aspect de brique rouge. Le probl\u00e8me \u00e9tait que les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s construites en brique \u00e9taient le symbole de la richesse et la Su\u00e8de n’\u00e9tait pas particuli\u00e8rement riche \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque. <\/p>\n

Pour r\u00e9soudre ce probl\u00e8me, il a pens\u00e9 que les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s en bois devraient \u00eatre peintes en rouge oxyde de fer, une couleur similaire \u00e0 celle de la brique rouge. Par chance, la Su\u00e8de poss\u00e8de une riche r\u00e9serve d’oxyde de fer dans le sol. En y jetant un coup d’\u0153il, on pouvait voir la similitude et ce qu’il essayait d’imiter. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pourquoi utiliser la peinture au lin ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Il est important de comprendre l’importance d’utiliser une peinture absorbant l’humidit\u00e9 sur un b\u00e2timent en bois. Ces b\u00e2timents sont encore debout gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l’utilisation de mat\u00e9riaux traditionnels, et non malgr\u00e9 eux. Les peintures modernes, non respirantes ou non absorbantes, retiennent l’humidit\u00e9 et font pourrir le bois. <\/p>\n

Une autre raison d’utiliser de la peinture \u00e0 base de lin est que, lorsqu’on utilise un produit traditionnel, la palette de couleurs et, par cons\u00e9quent, l’aspect et le toucher de la finition sont automatiquement conformes \u00e0 l’original historique. La couleur et le toucher des peintures modernes ne sont jamais tout \u00e0 fait satisfaisants en raison des diff\u00e9rences inh\u00e9rentes aux structures mol\u00e9culaires. <\/p>\n

Nous avons 2 couleurs qui sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement utilis\u00e9es pour les b\u00e2timents de ce type. L’une est le rouge traditionnel Barn Red, l’autre le rouge Dark Iron Oxide Red, l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus terreux et brun\u00e2tre. Tr\u00e8s souvent, le rouge est utilis\u00e9 en combinaison avec un blanc neutre. Les ocres jaunes et les gris fonc\u00e9s fonctionnent \u00e9galement bien. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
