Traditionell stellten K\u00fcnstler und Dekorateure ihre Farbe selbst her, indem sie eine Paste aus ausgew\u00e4hlten Pigmenten und einer \u00d6lbasis mischten. Dazu verwendeten sie einfache Handwerkzeuge: einen Reibstein (ein kurzstieliges Werkzeug zum Mahlen von Pigmenten) und eine Platte. Zun\u00e4chst rieben sie die Pulverpigmente mit etwas \u00d6l an und f\u00fcgten dann nach und nach mehr \u00d6l hinzu, um die richtige Konsistenz zu erreichen. K\u00fcnstler verwendeten typischerweise weniger \u00d6l in ihrer Farbe, w\u00e4hrend Maler mehr verwendeten, um eine d\u00fcnnere Farbe zu erhalten, die sich besser f\u00fcr gro\u00dfe Fl\u00e4chen eignete. <\/p>

Diese traditionelle Methode des Mischens von Hand war nicht nur zeit- und arbeitsintensiv, sondern es war auch schwierig, jedes Mal ein einheitliches Ergebnis zu erzielen. Um die Haltbarkeit der Farbe zu gew\u00e4hrleisten, ist es wichtig, dass Lein\u00f6l und Pigmente vollst\u00e4ndig miteinander verschmelzen. Ist die Farbe nicht richtig gemischt, mattiert sie deutlich schneller, was den Pflegeaufwand erh\u00f6ht. <\/p>

Um optimale Ergebnisse zu erzielen, verwendet Brouns & Co im Herstellungsprozess S\u00e4ulenmischer und gro\u00dfe F\u00e4sser. Die in diesen F\u00e4ssern gemischte Farbe wird anschlie\u00dfend in eine Dreiwalzenm\u00fchle \u00fcberf\u00fchrt. Hier durchl\u00e4uft die Farbe, die zu diesem Zeitpunkt eher eine past\u00f6se Konsistenz hat, je nach K\u00f6rnung der verwendeten Pigmente drei- bis f\u00fcnfmal die Walzen. Dieser Prozess erzeugt eine wunderbar homogene Konsistenz, die die Grundlage f\u00fcr die sp\u00e4teren Farbt\u00f6ne bildet. <\/p>

Wichtig ist jedoch, dass die Mischung etwa Raumtemperatur hat. Die Reibung von Metall auf Metall erzeugt erhebliche Hitze. Wird das \u00d6l zu hei\u00df, wird es d\u00fcnnfl\u00fcssiger, wodurch das Pigment schlechter haftet. Daher sind beim Mahlen zus\u00e4tzliche Ma\u00dfnahmen erforderlich, um \u00d6l und Paste auf der richtigen Temperatur zu halten. Dies wird durch den Einsatz von Walzen erreicht, die st\u00e4ndig mit kaltem Wasser durchstr\u00f6mt werden. <\/p>

Sieht man von modernen Maschinen und zus\u00e4tzlichen K\u00fchltechniken ab, ist die heutige Methode, Pigmente in gekochtes \u00d6l zu mahlen, im Prinzip Hunderte von Jahren alt. Vor diesem Hintergrund versteht man, warum die Herstellung von Lein\u00f6lfarbe teurer ist als die einfacheren Methoden zur Herstellung moderner Kunststofffarben. Der Kostenunterschied wird jedoch gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils durch die hervorragende Deckkraft der Lein\u00f6lfarbe ausgeglichen, da ein Liter Lein\u00f6lfarbe deutlich weiter reicht als moderne Kunststofffarben. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We conduct quarterly internal audits of our marketing and communications content to ensure references are accurate and up to date. During these audits, we also review new developments in the industry to identify benchmarking opportunities. Additionally, we undertake an annual review of all ‘static’ content\u2014such as website pages and key documents\u2014to ensure compliance with any updates to the Charter’s standards, changes in relevant regulations, or adjustments to our organisation\u2019s GCP. This ensures our communications remain aligned with the latest expectations for
transparency and responsibility. By incorporating both regular audits and an annual comprehensive review, we ensure our content consistently reflects the highest standards of responsible marketing and communications.<\/p>

Governance of this Policy<\/h4>

Our MD is responsible for ensuring that our compliance with this Green Claims Policy is reviewed quarterly. Any non-compliance with this policy will be brought to the attention of the Team, who will decide on further actions and whether the matter should be escalated further.<\/p>

Any concerns about compliance which cannot be assessed by the MD will be referred to The Anti Greenwash Charter for independent review.<\/p>

Before entering into new partnerships with third parties, such as suppliers, we share our Green Claims Policy with them to encourage adoption of similar standards.<\/p>
